First, I would spend a year or two traveling all through Europe. Ideally I would love to get a not-so-touristy look at what life is like in the various different countries, although I'm sure there would be some tourist attractions I wouldn't be able to pass up. I'd spend time in big cities and small towns. I'd try new foods, attempt to pick up new languages and soak up the culture. I would also get all nerdy and delve into the rich history there.
My second answer, of course, is to hang out at a tropical beach resort. Since the Heart Island in my books isn't an actual place, I think I would be very happy to "settle" for someplace like Hawaii or the Dominican. Someday I think it would be amazing to take a nice long Caribbean cruise...as long as the waters didn't get too rough. Seasickness is no fun! But cruising definitely is. Am I showing my age? ;)
